Buy VMware Fusion 3 - It's Awesome - Run Windows 7 on Your Mac

I put off installing Snow Leopard on my MacBook Pros, because I am a big user of VMware Fusion and was waiting for the official release of VMware Fusion 3 that supports Snow Leopard. I realize many people have already been running Snow Leopard with VMware Fusion 2.0.6 successfully, but I prefer to be safe than sorry if I turned out to be one of the folks having problems ;)

The other day VMware released VMware Fusion 3, which means I was able to finally install Snow Leopard as well as VMware Fusion 3. So right now both my MacBook Pros are running Snow Leopard ( 10.6.1 ) as well as VMware Fusion 3.0 with several virtual machines running Windows 7 64bit. I am also running instances of SQL Server 2008 64bit, Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2, Visual Studio Team Foundation Server Basic ( TFS Basic ), as well as a whole host of other applications.

Let me say that performance is awesome! VMware Fusion 3 is taking advantage of the new Grand Central Dispatch in Snow Leopard which makes things faster, but more importantly, both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 seem so much faster, lighter and nimbler than the previous versions. Don't have any doubts on purchasing a Mac, especially that cool new 27" iMac, to have the best of both Snow Leopard and Windows 7. It all works really well and I couldn't be happier!!
