MonoDevelop - Develop ASP.NET MVC Web Applications on the Mac

I have to admit that I know nothing about Mono. Nothing. Zippo.

However, I am really excited about the fact that I could download the Mono 2.4 Mac Installer and MonoDevelop 2.0 Mac Installer and develop ASP.NET MVC Web Applications on my Mac:

Now regardless if you have a Mac or even care about Apple hardware, you have to give it up for the folks developing Mono that we can develop ASP.NET MVC web applications on other operating systems like the Mac OS X.

As a MacBook Pro owner that focuses heavily on web application development using the ASP.NET MVC Framework, this gets me really excited. Theoretically no more having to jump into Windows XP via VMware Fusion to develop ASP.NET MVC Web Applications. Note that this is still in the early stages, but I look forward to its progress.

I grabbed the above image from Michael Hutchinson so check out his blog post with links.

Check out Miguel's post, too.
