Safari 4 Beta Released - World's Fastest Browser and More

Apple just released Safari 4, which apparently is the world's fastest browser given its new Nitro Engine. It is 3 times faster than Firefox and 30 times faster than Internet Explorer 7. According to Apple:

“Still the world’s fastest web browser, Safari outraces Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome. On even the most demanding Web 2.0 applications, Safari delivers blazingly fast performance thanks to the industry’s most advanced rendering technologies. Using the new Nitro Engine, for example, Safari executes JavaScript up to 30 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and more than 3 times faster than Firefox 3 based on performance in leading industry benchmark tests: iBench and SunSpider.”

That is cool and it is noticeably faster, but I like the Top Sites and History via Cover Flow to give you that really cool effect when you pan through your sites. Here is what it looks like on Windows XP. Obviously it looks better on your own machine as these are just quick and dirty snapshots:

If you think that is cool, it looks even better on a Mac ;)

Anyway, you can download the Safari 4 Beta from the Apple Website as well as check out all the new features for developers, etc. here.

Pretty cool stuff!
