If you are interested in giving Windows 7 a test drive while it is still in beta, Microsoft has made it publicly available to the first 2.5 million users :)
I won't pretend to know much about it since I have downloaded Windows 7 myself yet, but it has to be better than Vista :). Some new features mentioned on the Windows 7 home page are:
- Improved Task Bar - Allowing you to easily switch between applications with various previews
- Jump Lists - Getting those recents and frequently accessed items at your finger tips.
- New Ways to Work with Windows - Simplified moving and resizing of windows
- Internet Explorer 8 - If you are still using Internet Explorer.
- Windows Live - Windows Live Messenger, Photo Gallery, Mail, Writer, Movie Maker
- Better Device Management - Don't have to jump through all the screens as before. Device Stage allows you to interact with them in common ways.
- Home Group - Simplied home networking.
- Easier to Share Music and Videos
- Windows Touch - For those with touch screen monitors.
- Hand Recognition - Pretty self explanatory.
I recommend Microsoft add Spaces like in Apple Leopard, too.
