NHibernate 2.0 is released, which apparently puts it on par with Hibernate in terms of functionality. You also have a Fluent NHibernate project which is attempting to get NHibernate out of the clutches of XML Hell. And, soon to be released from Manning is a new book on NHibernate, called NHibernate in Action
.
If you are interested in learning about the NHibernate O/R Mapper, however, you may want to check out the NHibernate Wiki.
The NHiberante Wiki looks really good, with several chapters on NHibernate that allow you to learn NHibernate O/R Mapping at your own pace:
- NHibernate Overview
- Nhibernate Architecture
- ISessionFactory Configuration
- Persistent Classes
- Basic O/R Mapping
- Collection Mapping
- Component Mapping
- Inheritance Mapping
- Manipulating Persistent Data
- Transactions and Concurrency
- Interceptors and Events
- HQL: The Hibernate Query Language
- Criteria Queries
- Native SQL
- Filtering Data
- Improving NHibernate Performance
- NHibernate Best Practices
If NHibernate seems a bit intimidating, you may want to check out Castle ActiveRecord, which uses the ActiveRecord Data Mapping Pattern on top of NHibernate. I talked about it several times in the past:
If NHibernate doesn't grab you, check out other O/R Mappers.
