This is exciting - WMware Fusion 2.0 Beta 2 has been released! When WMware Fusion 2.0 is released this will be a free download for all us existing VMware Fusion 1.x users who are using WMware Fusion to run Windows on a Mac.
VMware Fusion 2.0 Beta 2 comes with the following new features:
- Unity 2.0: Mac-Windows Integration
- Multiple Snapshots and AutoProtect
- Usability Enhancements
- Video Performance Improvements
- Tech-Pro Features
I am looking forward to having Multiple Snapshots. Right now with VMware Fusion 1.x you only get 1 snapshot.
Better Performance and CPU Utilization is always a must-have. I have noticed that running my FTP application or Graphic Application in VMware can get a bit CPU hungry
The ability to Mirror Folders so that Mac folders appear as native PC folders in your windows virtual desktop will be sweet as well. This will provide better file sharing in the two operating systems.
Better Keyboard and Mouse Shortcut Mapping is always good when you want to map some of those specials keys, like Print Screen, that don't have a simple counterpart in Mac OS X.
Only one thing missing from the VMware Fusion 2.0 Beta 2.0 list of enhancements - Better Printing Support! I want transparent printing in my virtual desktop as opposed to choosing a special virtual print driver.
