Rumor has it that Sony's new VAIO Laptops are based on Intel's new Centrino 2 ( Montevina ) chipset and are expected to be released or at least officially announced on Monday, July 14, 2008. The teaser on the Sony website sorta confirms this-
Although I purchased a MacBook Pro because I couldn't wait for the Intel Centrino 2 Chipset given the delays, I have been waiting for the Intel Centrino 2 before making additional laptop purchases.
So the fact that Sony is teasing us with a new line of VAIO's that apparently have the new Centrino 2 processor, this means that Apple is probably due to announce the new MacBook Pro with the Intel Centrino 2 Chips. Sweet.

The Apple iPhone 3G on Friday and now Intel Centrino 2 possibly on Monday. Cool.
