The Apple Design Awards 2008 Winners were announced and Screenflow was the winner for the Best Mac OS X Leopard Application and Best Mac OS X Leopard Graphics and Media Application.
I moved to the Macbook Pro for my main development machine but still do screencasts on my Dell XPS Laptop using Camtasia Studio. Camtasia is an awesome application for creating screencasts on a PC. I highly, highly recommend it.
I will be downloading Screenflow over the weekend to give it a shot as well:
“ScreenFlow is a complete workflow for creating screencasts: powerful enough to capture your desktop, video camera, microphone & computer audio at the same time. Edit your recording inside ScreenFlow, then publish the finished movie to your website or blog.”
If I can get Screenflow to record my presentation slides in Keynotes and Visual Studio 2008 development environment in VMware Fusion, I will be a happy man. Screenflow will also display the iSight Camera so you can also watch me speak, but I am not sure that is a good thing :) Although I don't normally take advantage of the editing features to add callouts, zoom and pan, as well as add animations and transitions, if it is easy enough I just might start using those features in Screenflow.
If you are interested in creating screencasts on the Mac, you should probably check out Screenflow.
