See You In Tampa Tomorrow: RepositoryFactory EntLib Guidance Bundles
by David Hayden ( Florida .NET Developer ), Filed: Repository Factory
I look forward to seeing everyone at the Tampa .NET Developer Group tomorrow to talk about the Repository Factory and using it with the Validation Application Block, Policy Injection Application Block, and two new guidance bundles from Microsoft Patterns & Practices: Contextual Autocomplete Guidance Bundle and Validation Guidance Bundle.
We will use the Repository Factory to generate a data access layer from scratch, but also run through a couple of end-to-end examples to give you a feel on how all of these pieces can be used together using my cheesy :), but useful, DinnerTime QuickStart.
This example will show off the Repository Factory and the new ContextSensitiveAutoCompleteExtender giving you that rich autocomplete behavior using JSON, web services, and a data access layer created by the Repository Factory.

This example will show off the Repository Factory and ServerSideValidationExtender for rich UI Validation using the PropertyProxyValidator in the Validation Application Block as well as using the ValidationCallHandler on Repository Interfaces for policy injection and business object validation in the middle-tier.

We will also talk about the Enterprise Library Plug-In that I created for the Repository Factory that you can download from source code on the RepositoryFactory CodePlex site.
See you in Tampa.
