Guidance Automation Extensions ( GAX ) 1.3 for ORCAS and Visual Studio 2005 in the Works

I mentioned before that a GAX 1.3 was in the works so we can run the software factories on Visual Studio 2008 ( ORCAS ).
I noticed a quick post on the MSDN Blogs this evening further reassuring me that this will happen:
“GAX 1.3 is coming. The main goal was to port it to Orcas. This version will work for both Orcas and Whidbey and there is only a single MSI. Other new and improved features include:
- New GAX installer (using Wix)
- Experimental hive support
- VB templates support in GAT generated packages“
Good to know :) These quick updates are very reassuring and not going un-noticed. Customers can never get too much communication and updates no matter how short.
FYI... The Experimental Hive is being used by the current weekly drops of the Web Service Software Factory.
