Data Binding with Windows Forms 2.0 Presentation at Sarasota .NET Developers Group

Brian Noyes gave an excellent presentation last night on Data Binding with Windows Forms 2.0 to the Sarasota .NET Developer Group last night.  This was an ultra-cool presentation with lots of code and lots of well thought out demonstrations that has gotten me even more excited about my continuous exploration of winform development.

The presentation included so many data binding productivity tips surrounding “hidden” features in the Visual Studio IDE that a web developer like myself was in awe.  And then pile on all the other cool stuff he mentioned about the DataSet Designer, Table Adapters, resolving namespaces, creating master detail pages, creating custom gridview columns and cells, etc. and you have a pretty hardcore evening of serious .NET development.  Five Stars!

If you are interested in learning more about data binding in your windows forms applications, Brian wrote a book, called Data Binding with Windows Forms 2.0 ( SoftInsight, Addison Wesley, Amazon ), that is hot off the press.  This is definitely on my list of next books to purchase.

At the “Executive Meeting“ after the presentation, we were talking about must have tools, and Reflector came up as a must have tool for spelunking the framework.  A few people had never heard of it, so here is a link ( Reflector ).  This is a must have tool so download it now along with a number of add-ins ( Reflector Add-ins ) that extend it.

If you missed the presentation and want to make sure you don't miss the next one, register on the Sarasota .NET Developer Website to stay up-to-date on Sarasota .NET Developer events and Florida .NET Developer events.
