Green Tea Glass Cup and Filter Useless for High Quality Japanese Green Tea with Fine Leaves

An updated on the new glass green tea cup I purchased for brewing and drinking green tea.

The green tea cup comes with a glass infuser and a glass lid.  Simply place the glass infuser into the glass tea cup, add your favorite green tea, pour the hot water over the green tea leaves in the infuser, and place the lid on top to steep the tea.

This cup if fine for display green tea, like Green Sea Anemone, or green tea with larger leaves, like Dragon Well Green Tea, but it is absolutely useless for higher quality Japanese Green Tea, like Gyokuro and Sencha, that have fine leaves.  Gyokuro and Sencha green tea leaves plug up the small slits in the bottom of the infuser not allowing the green tea to actually drain into the cup.

You end up with an infuser full of green tea leaves and water and nothing in the cup.  I ended up throwing away several healthy cups of Gyokuro Green Tea trying to solve the problem with no luck.
