As I mentioned in a previous post, Rooibos - Red Tea - Compared to Green Tea - Dr. Weil Health, Dr. Weil got me interested in green tea and I have been drinking green tea ever since.
Time Magazine has put Dr. Weil on the cover of the October 17, 2005 edition with the caption Aging Naturally. Time Magazine also has an article about Dr. Andrew Weil's Wellness Diet with the following overview:
“Aim for variety, and include as much fresh food as possible in your diet. Minimize your consumption of processed and fast food. Eat an abundance of fruits and vegetables, and try to include carbohydrates, fat and protein in every meal. Most adults need to consume between 2,000 and 3,000 calories a day. Women and smaller, less active people require fewer calories; men and larger, more active people need more calories. The distribution of calories you take in should be: 40% to 50% from carbohydrates, 30% from fat and 20% to 30% from protein.”
Dr. Weil is a huge fan of green tea and he has this to say about water and green tea in the article:
“Water
Try to take 6 to 8 glasses of pure water or drinks that are mostly water (tea, very diluted fruit juice, sparkling water with lemon) every day.
Use bottled water or get a home water purifier if your tap water tastes of chlorine or other contaminants.”
Although I wish I followed all of Dr. Andrew Weil's Wellness Diet, good, clean, healthy water is crucial to your diet. A good water purifier is extremely important to your healthy well-being. Have someone come over and test your water and you will be amazed at what you are drinking.
I drink plenty of high quality green tea as well as dilute orange juice and other 100% pure fruit juices with at least half water.
Do yourself a favor. Get rid of the coffee. Get rid of the soda.
