For most people, buying good quality green tea at the grocery store or around town is not an option. Most of the green tea I have purchased at the grocery store is either poor in quality or way too expensive when you look at the price per ounce.
If you are looking for the maximum health benefits of green tea, then you are probably more interested in better quality green tea, which consists mainly of the first two leaves and a bud. The flavonoids, catechins, antioxidants, etc. that are responsible for green tea's health benefits, are mainly found in the bud and first two leaves of the plant. If possible, you want to drink those healthier, more quality green teas that only consist of the precious bud and first 2 leaves.
For a good daily green tea, I prefer a good Japanese Sencha Green Tea , Dragon Well Lung Ching Green Tea or Gyokuro. Other times I want a scented green tea, like Jasmine Pearls, that is a pleasant experience when drinking.
