Green Tea Review - Guide to Healthy Loose Leaf Green Tea

I have been drinking green tea for 5+ years and have purchased green tea from almost every green tea company and tried every green tea variety available on the green tea market.  Because green tea has become such a passion of mine, I have also started a humble online green tea store to provide quality green tea at affordable prices.

Here is a green tea review of some of my most favorite green teas.  My green tea reviews are based on my own green tea, which I consider to be some of the best on the green tea market.

Green Tea Reviews

  • Japanese Sencha - Hands down the best green tea in my opinion.  Sencha gets my highest green tea review.  Although Sencha is the most exported green tea from Japan and comes in a wide variety of quality, Japanese Sencha gets the top green tea review.  If you are looking for a recommended daily green tea, look no further than Sencha Green Tea.  You will be able to find a good quality Japanese Sencha for every budget.  I, of course, recommend my online green tea store for Sencha.  I drink it daily and try to make it affordable for everyone interested in the health benefits of green tea. Sencha provides a nice, yellow-green colored green tea that is very thirst quenching and great for your immune system.  It is rich in antioxidants and a good part of your healthy diet.
  • Japanese Gyokuro - Gyokuro is some of the best green tea on the green tea market, and gets my second highest green tea review only because it is quite expensive compared to Sencha.  I don't recommend Gyokuro as a daily green tea unless your budget will allow it.  I drink Gyokuro every 2 to 3 days for the variety and enjoy its crisp, clean, and healthy taste.  Gyokuro is shaded for 20 days prior to harvesting, which supposedly not only increases its chlorophyl content, but others suggest it increases its health benefits.  I recommend each household have Gyokuro in stock, but I wouldn't recommend it as a daily green tea for the price.
  • Japanese Matcha - Matcha is made from the very best Gyokuro, which makes it the highest quality green tea available from Japan as well as the most expensive green tea.  I drink it once or twice a week and we use it in a lot of green tea recipes, like green tea ice cream, green tea cookies, and green tea chocolate cake, which even my children enjoy.  Match gets my third highest green tea review, again, only because it is expensive.  Drink it occasionally for its health benefits, as it is the only green tea where you actually consume the leaves.  This allows you to get all the benefits of antioxidants from the green tea leaves.
  • Dragon Well Lung Ching - Dragon Well is like Sencha from Japan.  It comes in a lot of different qualities.  The higher the quality, the higher the price.  It is an extremely smooth green tea that can satisfy the pickiest taste buds.  It has a very pale yellow color that won't stain your teeth much and is easier on the stomach for people who have a tendency for heatburn.  Dragon Well gets my fourth highest green tea review mainly because I believe Japan green teas are better in quality than China green teas.  I drink a high quality Dragon Well once or twice a week.
  • Jasmine Pearls Green Tea - My wife and I drink Jasmine Pearls Green Tea on those nights when the children fall asleep early and we get some time alone.  We love the smell of Jasmine.  It makes us feel like we are at the spa.  Good quality Jasmine Pearls Green Tea has an incredible relaxing aroma and is a fun green tea.  Don't be fooled by lower quality Jasmine Pearls Green Tea which has only been sprayed with a Jasmine scent or contains Jasmine petals in the tea.  Good quality Jasmine Pearls Green Tea is quality green tea that has been put together with Jasmine flower petals on the green tea farm.  Jasmine Pearls gets my fifth highest green tea review.
